At first glance it might seem that I am just a happy, normal girl who loves to bake and walk her dog. However, I have suffered with an eating disorder since I was 13. It was only in May 2014 when I realised that this Voice in my head was slowly but surely trying to kill me. And so began the long, hard, and painful journey which is recovery...

I want My Cocoa Stained Apron to be a special place...a place for reflection, memories, shared stories...and of course a little bit of cocoa-staining ;) Recovery might be the hardest thing you ever choose to do in this life. But it is also the bravest and best decision you will ever make.:)

Get to Know me even MORE A-Z!! ;)

Another silly but undeniably fun blog challenge I invented myself as a follow-up to my earlier post Get to Know Me A-Z! I made up the questions myself so some might be quite ridiculous but was a good way of passing the time ;) I am doing this blog challeneg in collaboration with two very special friends of mine... Olivia <3  and Ange <3 !!! Check out their blogs HERE and HERE <3 xxxxxxxxxxxx

A Addicted to...? Heeheee...of course, hot choc <3, baking, blogging, chocolate, bananas, Game of Thrones!;)

B Biggest fear? would probably bbe drowning (I nearly got swept away by a big wave when I was little so perhaps that is the reason for this ), really deep water, losing my friends, or for anything bad to happen to those I love.

C Countries you have lived in/visited? England, Ireland, Wales, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, USA :)

D Describe yourself? Caring, helpful, considerate, thoughtful, shy, affectionate, sensitive. I'm always worrying about something or other, I love spending time which my family or friends and chattering away for hours, I am fanatical about animals and nature and being outside. I get quite emotional about loads of things - old pictures, a email from a dear friend, a hug, a film - these are just some of the things which might reduce me to a flood of tears.

Embarrassing moment? Haha I've had a few over the of them which I remember with great fondness, is from my graduation day, when most of my year headed down to the river near our school after the graduation breakfast. Two of the lads (oth who I secretly had a crush on ;) ) crept up on me unawares, picked me up between me and then slung me in the river.. :o

F Flower? Ohh this is again a very hard question as I adore nearly all tyopes of flowers!! But my top favourites would probably have to be daffodils, snowdrops, tulips, poppies and sweet peas <3

G Goals? To recover. To help those who were, are or will be in the same position as me. To discover the real Emmy. To meet some very special friends I am in contact with ;) <3

Hobbies? Baking, walking, hiking, cooking, travelling, cycling, writing, blogging, knitting! ;)

I Ice Cream Flavour? Heehee I have a few ;) cookie dough, vanilla, brownie, caramel, raspberry ripple.

Jam or peanut butter? Awwwww don't make me choose PLEASE ;) it really all depends on what it simply can't beat scones and jam, bbut equally, there is nothing quite like warm toast with peanut butter... Yummmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ;)

Kissed anyone? (as in, not a family member?? ;) ) Haha, yes...ahem, well, I'm not going to reveal too much ;) but in primary school I did kiss the boy in my class who I fancied (and I think he actually liked me too :o) and then there was that shift in first year of college a few years ago... ;)

Longest time away from home? I guess it was when I went to California after Matt's illness...or my first two weeks at hospital were that length of time as well :'(

Movie? Stardust, Frozen, the Lego Movie ;) haha Im a big kid at heart :p

Newest possession? The new shoes Daddy bought me at the weekend ;) Flowery print and very girly...just what I like ;)

Obstacles you have overcome/hope to overcome? The most obvious one of course, my ED..and also my low self-esteem, the critical voice in my head, my lack of confidence. Getting through recovery so that I can start to really experience life.

Possible career choice? Possibly a primary school teacher :)

Question you have always wanted to be able to answer ? Erm...well I find space quite fascinating so I have always wondered whether aliens really exist and is there a good possibility that one day the world will end,.

Really special moment? I have a of them has to be my last end-of-year show at primary was so so sad because I knew it would be the last one I ever did but it was just so, so special. I played the part of Eleanor in our "production" of Robin Hood and I wore a long blue dress and felt like a real princess :) and also another very special moment was when I got the results of my Leaving Cert and ran around screaming with my school friends. My debs, the day Matt finished his luekemia treatment, going to Mallorca the first time with my family...

Style? Very girly- I love dresses, skirts, clothes with flowery prints or cute animals on them...etc ;)

Town or countryside? Definitely, countryside... I just love being in the country surrounded by nature <3

Uninteresting fact about me? I am fascinated by maps for some reason..I could spend ages just looking at them.

Values? Friends, Family, love, friendship, hope, freedom, happiness.

Won anything? Just the Home Economics Award in my last year of school (noone was more shocked than me ! :p) and also a prize for my chocolate cake when I entered the Tullamore Show! :)

Xenophobic? (I know this is kind of a stupid question but I honestly couldn't think of anything else beginning with x, sorry. :p) I guess so...I interpret xenophobic as being afraid of things which are strange/unfamiliar. So yeah, that pretty much describes me quite well. :(

Your dreams for the future? To visit ALL of the Disneylands :p , to meet all of my dear friends who have supported me so so much in this dificult journey <3, to

Zoo? My favourite zoo would have to be Chester Zoo near my grandparent's house!! ;)

  1. Thank you so much for this Emmy! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and actually think that your questions were quite good. I loved too that it showed us more of the Emmy without the eating disorder. I also discovered how many things we have in common!! Flowers, nature, animals, reading maps, Game of Thrones...I could go on and on:)

    1. <3 Aww! thank you so much hun! I'm really glad you liked it <3 and it is really helpful for me to do because it reminds me that there is alot more to life outside this horrible disease!
